I was born and raised in northeast Tennessee, but moved to middle Tennessee to attend Austin Peay State University for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English Language & Literature. I then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for my doctorate in English Rhetoric & Composition. I now work as a Lecturer of English at Kennesaw State University, teaching English 1101 & 1102.

In addition to teaching, I love to dance and I love music-- I have over 20 years of experience in ballet, tap, and jazz, and I play the piano and the violin. I also love being outside. I'm an avid paddle boarder and spend as much time as I can paddling around Lake Allatoona and Lake Acworth. I also love hiking, biking, walking, running, kayaking, and gardening. 

My family and I have a labrador/ border collie named Evie, and a fluffy, black Chantilly-Tiffany cat named Winifred Sanderson (a.k.a. Winnie, a.k.a. Kit Kat). I live in Kennesaw with my husband, Jefferson, and our son, Elliott.
